Andre and co have nearly finished painting the outside. From this –
to this –
and you can see even the clivias are blooming with happiness :-)
A quick view of the front, pre-garden reshaping and paving:
And an entirely gratuitous pic of the cross-stitch butterflies I did many years ago to fit an old fire-screen of my grandmother’s. This emerged from the depths of the garage at Moving Time, and I’ve become fond of it all over again. Fire-screen not needed, and legs were always wonky anyway, so it might find itself up on a wall sometime soon.
So much more appealing with a nice fresh coat of white. Well done for seeing the potential in the original ‘vivid’ scheme. And I can see why you’ve fallen for the flutterbys again…
And I still have a half-complete cross-stitch project somewhere….don’t remember coming across it in the packing-up, but will find. Pity to just leave, because when I’m gone no-one is going to want to continue with it!!!
An event hardly imminent, but it’d be nice to finish it, I think? You could join the SAL to keep you motivated…
Nice flutterbies!
Thanks. Not sure why they got stashed away for so long – overload, I guess :(
The house defo looks better, doesn’t it?
The fire screen is a work of art – it’s wonderful :)
Thanks Katy :-)
Your house is lovely, Jill. Such a calm feeling with the white paint. Pretty butterflies.
Definitely calmer and more restful. On the outside, at least… :-)
It always shocks me what a difference a bit of plaster and paint can make. Looking good!!!!
True dat :-)
Your hippy house is looking respectable, what will the neighbors think?! Love love love the butterflies, did you follow a chart or design it yourself?
The neighbours have been avoiding me. I couldn’t figure out why, but your comment has put it all into perspective now! Even the swans have gone…
I had a few different designs for butterflies, and somehow put them all together on one piece of fabric. Must have been well over 20 years ago…
You’re probably making them look bad, if you start seeing home improvement projects popping up along your street then you’ll know for sure. :D
House looks great. Even though I like lots of colours it is better! Butterflies are beautiful.
