We’re on Day #12 of lockdown in South Africa, and it’s pretty horrible. The restrictions here include a ban on the sale of alcohol and cigarettes, which I can’t see helps anyone very much. It just means more people are in foul moods (speaking of behalf of a friend…)
But here’s some traditional Cape Town music, which is fabulous, and hopefully will make you smile. All credits for this great piece are at the end of the clip.
Fun song! Perhaps our government should put their message over in the same way.
Well, it’s just a brief respite. The reality of the situation is just tragic, here.
I’m going to have to save that for dancing to later, probably assisted by the dog… I must say I think restricting the cigs and booze is a bit harsh. I can only imagine how I’d feel if they took away my coffee!
There’s a lot of pressure to change the regulations re cigs, but the alcohol ban is the real killer — depending on which addiction is greater, I suppose! If any of the regulations are changed now (and some of them seem draconian compared to other countries), it will be for economic reasons.
Fabulous indeed. I smile and do a sitting down wiggling dance every time I hear this.
I know, David and those guys are the best :) I play it regularly.
It’s wonderful. Perfect way to start my day.
Hope you and your family are managing, Cathy. Challenging times, eh? xx
For some reason I can’t access the video today. Maybe I’m a day late. I wondered about our liquor store here too. Haven’t been out to find out if they are open or not but I’m well stocked so no worries there. I don’t smoke which is like setting money on fire. But I think we need to nip this bugger in the bud quickly. Too many are losing lives and livelihoods. Stay well, Jill.
Ramaphosa announced last night that the lockdown will extend until the end of April…:(
You take care, too, Marlene.xx
It’s a long time after you posted this but I can’t open the video.
I see the link has changed. Try this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCSHOCIOvWo
