A short walk along the Camps Bay promenade

Camps Bay is a suburb of Cape Town on the Atlantic seaboard waaaaay over on the other side of the mountain from where I live.  Rob lives there so sometimes I am there, too. Yesterday was warm and sunny and summer was in the air, and we took a short stroll along the promenade in the late afternoon.

The pavement cafés and wine bars weren’t overrun by tourists yet (not that I have anything against tourists, I really really don’t…) so there was parking to be had and a relaxed atmosphere and beaches to see and benches to sit on and old acquaintances to chat to.  And there was a rhino. And at the end of the stroll, turning left at the robots up Geneva Drive, there was Dizzy’s – a friendly barman, cold beer in a tall glass, more old pals… a well-deserved rest after a terribly long, hard, tiring day in the most beautiful city in the world.

To be continued…
