I came across this pattern for a cute little sprite cap the other day at Otava. My first attempt worked well, and I think I’ll send it up to Jo’burg for my stepsister’s 5-day old baby, Logan.
Then Rob handed over Season 4 of Shameless, so I was forced to carry on crocheting (instead of sewing up the kiddies’ hats). This is for a grown-up sprite,
…and THEN…..I was shocked to learn that Alex had never seen Thelma and Louise, so we watched that together last night. Brad must only have been about 20 when that movie was made so I’m not surprised that I’ve ended up with this variation:
Which is just fine, because I’m sure the day will come when I’ll get the urge to dress up as a teletubby.
Cute! and I’ve been meaning to say that I like the new header on your blog!
Thank you. I commissioned an artist friend to do it for me :-)
So sweet!
:-)
Haha when you do decide to dress up as a teletubby, can you post pictures?M
Awwww…..really sweet cap…makes me want to knit more than my usual scarves. Blessings!
how about a cap to match one of your scarves? :-)
All lovely…the last one needs a star on top and then you can be a Christmas tree!
good idea. or a pompom?
Enjoying a mental image of you as a Teletubby – ultra cute! xxx
They are super cute :) !
For displacement activity, they are extremely cute. A red pompom on the last one, I think, a large one…
too funny! and a great big “me too”. It takes an engaging movie to throw me off auto pilot but i am glad to read I am not the only one. LOL! <3
I wandered over for a quick visit after seeing you had hit the ‘follow’ button. [Thank you :-) ]
This post made me smile so much – they are cute and you are funny – and I see we have many mutual friends. I’m in! :-)
OOO what a lovely share! I have rekindled my love of crochet recently and have been trawling Ravelry and the net to see if I can’t find awesome magnificent gorgeous things that I can lust after and aim to create. I am hoping that my lust will enable me to actually turn out something that looks like this but usually the lust isn’t backed up by action so we shall see. Cheers for sharing this lovely post with us all and giving me something else to lust after…it keeps me off the streets and for that, the local populace is thankful to you :)
once you’ve hit pinterest, there’s no turning back. Now go crochet something…. :-)
Yeah, I once shared my Pinterest boards with my dear constant readers. They now know why I have no time in my day ;). Crocheting as I type (with my feet) as I have a Christmas deadline to be making something special for my eldest daughter that I can’t reveal just yet but lets just say you couldn’t get it off the shelf and I have had to learn a whole lot in order to make it. All will be revealed after Christmas :)
Love the idea of dressing up as a telletubby it made me laugh, although I was hoping they had been assigned to History!
I’ve never actually seen a programme but I guess the image has crept into the public domain strongly enough for me to be able to visualise them. My guess is that they’re pretty stupid? :-)
Yup. They have their own ‘baby’ language….
this is def your niche, love your hats!!! :-)
